The Fall Of Humanity

In the pretty and recently created garden, where Adam and Eva lived, Satan, disguised as a serpent, met with Eva.

This serpent was slier than all the animals that God had created. he asked Eva: “You are certain that God said to you were not to eat from the tree of the garden?”

The woman answered: “We can eat from all the trees, but not that one that is in the middle of the garden, because God warned: If eaten from that tree, You will die’”.

The serpent said: “You will not die. God knows that in the day in which you eat of this tree, your eyes are going to open, and you will be the same as Him, and will see the difference between good and evil “.

The Bible affirms that Satan is the father of Lies and, clearly, he tried to mislead the woman, and he invented lies about God.

When the woman saw that the fruits of the tree seemed so flavorful, were very pretty and would leave her very wise, she caught one, ate and offered one to her husband, who was near there, and he also ate.

Immediately their eyes opened and their spirit died. They had perceived that they were naked, and had been ashamed. Then, they took fig leaves and they had improvised clothes.

When they had heard the voice of God in the garden, in the coolness of the afternoon, Adam and Eva had hidden between the trees. They had died spiritually and they were not more in communion with the Lord. Therefore they had trusted in themselves, and not in God.
God then called: ” Adam, where are you?”

Adam answered: “I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid because I was naked; then I did hid myself”.

God asked: “Who told you that you were nude? Did you eat of the prohibited tree?” Adam answered: “The woman that you gave me offered me the fruit and I ate”.

The Lord asked Eva: “What is it that you did?” She answered: “The snake misleads me, and I ate the fruit”.

Then God said to the snake: “Because of that, you will be damned between all of the animals, and will pass the remainder of the life crawling and eating dust. I am going to cause enmity between you and the woman, and the descendant of her will crush your head”.

This is the first time that the Bible speaks about the coming of the Savior, being born of woman, for defeat of the Devil.

God said to Eva: “I am going you increase your suffering. You are going to feel many pains when you have children”

And God said to Adam: “You gave ears to your woman and ate from the prohibited tree. Therefore the earth is cursed, and for the remaining portion of your life you are going to have to work hard to be able to eat”.

“The land is going to produce thorns and harmful grass. And while you live, you are going to have to sweat to earn the bread of each day. I created you from dust, and for the dust you will come back”.

The clothes of leaf did not cover Adam and Eva. God, then, made them clothes of animal’s skin. God needed to kill an animal so that man and the woman had sufficient clothes to cover themselves. So, through Adam, sin and death entered the world.

Before the creation of the world, God had planned to forgive human disobedience with the death of an innocent one. He knew that the people, being fools, would reject his directions and would try to be the owner of their lives, but they would fail. God calls this rejection “sin”.

However, because he so loved the world, God planned to send a Savior, who would die, so that they all could be forgiven of their sins.

God banished Adam and Eva from the Garden of Eden, and placed angels, called querubins, to the east of the garden, and put a flaming sword that turned in all the directions, to watch the Tree of the Life.

At the moment that Adam sinned, all the people had been condemned to death. But, in the history of God, hope never dies.
